  • The idea of a computer museum was given to René Speranza by Bruno Vergnes with is donation of a HP85

1990

  • the first acquisitions come straight from the trashcan. At that timeand for a while, a computer collector remains an alien.

1991

  • Machines get in at a slow pace. First donators are contacting ust. Friends, hardcore computists enjoy this museum concept.

  • Outstanding machines :

1992

  • The problem of room is coming to our mind. What future with all this computers?

1993

  • We start writing a catalog, showing all machines and their specs. Basicly only 50 pages!

1994

  • We decide to get a legal form, Silicium est registered in April as a non-profit organization. The Politburo will lead the creation of a computer museum.

  • First exhibition is scheduled for October at "la cour des miracles", in Aucamville near Toulouse. Machines shown : Apple ///, HP85, VIC-20...

1995

  • The organization gets its marks, with news projects for exhibitions, things to develop...

1996

  • Our first web site is created. Only a few pages from our pressbook. We just want to inform everyone what we are doing and present our projects

1997

  • Many more new machines. More than 80 in this year! At that time we decide to get old videogames. They are fun to use, especially during exhibitions.

1998

  • More and more people appreciate old computers and old videogame. Our exposition at the big fair "FAUST" has dragged many fans. Our first convention Vieumikro, dedicated to collector is schedule for the summer.

1999
