Re: Casio FX-9000P

My plan is to transcribe & adapt my FP-200 software - many cool games in thereMaybe in this way someone will be encouraged to write a program for it because there's a big lack of software for this machine.
Unfortunately that cannot be done at the moment
since my FP-1021FD1 Floppy Disk Drive Unit is out of order right now
Then it will be interesting if the programs can be fed through the Cassette input.
I think I remember Ledudu and Marcus have worked something out in that direction
But I am not sure what the advancement state is, maybe Ledudu can let us know

Tu as un compte TaoBao toi ?

Re: Casio FX-9000P
Yes, is not usual to have the FP-1021VD1 Floppy Disk drive, but the OP-1 interface for cassette was more extended I guess... That's not my case, unfortunatelly I only have the FX-9000P and I have to type the programs line by line.Joscelyn a écrit : ↑12 oct. 2022 10:19My plan is to transcribe & adapt my FP-200 software - many cool games in there

I made a PCb that could send and receive cassette information and save/load it to SD card:Papalapa a écrit : ↑13 oct. 2022 07:15Yes, is not usual to have the FP-1021VD1 Floppy Disk drive, but the OP-1 interface for cassette was more extended I guess... It was for the FX502P but should, in theory, work for any Kansas City type cassette interface. I'll try it when my FX9000P turns up

From your blog :
The FX-9000P sounds like a perfect candidate to meNext, I need to add a few commands to the code to read files from SD card and also see what other calculators and computers I can get to work with the interface.

Re: Casio FX-9000P
Indeed. I just need to receive a file and work out the format, then that should allow sending and receiving to SD card. That's the theory...Joscelyn a écrit : ↑13 oct. 2022 11:55 It does work now !

Re: Casio FX-9000P
Is anyone interested in a 'group buy' of this FX9000P? Does anyone have a TaoBao and would be willing to buy the unit, after some funds from other people have been sent to them? I'm particularly interested in the ROM cartridge, specifically dumping the ROM and also using it to dump the FX9000P ROMs as well. Then, maybe fix it, assuming the ROMs have been dumped and aren't dead, then it should be possible to fix it. I suppose the CRT could be bad, which wouldn't be good, but an LCD screen could be substituted.Joscelyn a écrit : ↑12 oct. 2022 15:17 Ah merci beaucoup Dom pour le signalement !

Re: Casio FX-9000P
Hi guys,
Let me explain how I do with Taobao
My account is only used to view ads.
You have to be wary of the ads that you can find and only do business with serious shops.
The FX-9000P is sold by a serious shop and I have done business with this shop before with no problems.
But to buy on Taobao, you must use a proxy: mine is ParcelUp.
I've been in affair with them several times and it's always been good.
Intermediary fees are reasonable, and parcels are well shielded.
I can try to contact them to see if they can negotiate the price (because I think it's a bit high).
Then, you have to be aware that the shipping costs will be significant (at least $300 i think).
And finally, the customs fees won't be a gift either...
In France, you can count on 20% of the cost, at least $150, if the french customs don't include the shipping cost...
I made a try on ParcelUp :
I also made a simulation for the shipping cost for France (7kg + 3kg of packaging) :
We are on line 3, so it will be between $279.10, $293,56, $312 or 447.14, depending on the shipping company.
Finally, this FX-9000P could cost $809,54 + $447,14 + $251,34 => $1508,02
Provided that I have not made any mistakes (which is NOT guaranted), this must be seriously studied.
I can manage things but you will have to advance the funds and be aware that there may be additional costs!
Kind regards,
Dom
